List of Oddities and Wonders of Charted Space?

Spinward Scout

Has anyone seen or made a list of Oddities and Wonders found in Charted Space?

Like Olympus Mons on Mars is the tallest mountain in the solar system.

Where's the largest mountain in Charted Space?

Where's the largest waterfall?

The deepest canyon?

I'd love to see a list of these if anyone knows where one is?

Interesting oddities on Denotam(Vilis/Spinward Marches)
"Blue Ice Caverns", "The Wastes"(large open spaces of wind-sculpted ice formations including the "Torches of Hell)., "The Spire Forests" (a wide plain covered by ice hoodoos, the Banded Cauldron, The Wind Temple

As a note and warning, the world is Balkanized under an Imperial Enclave and the seven "Clans"
Each clan is forever warring or trading with their neighbors dependent on the political climate at the time.
Warnings in Imperial facilities warn that what might be advertised as a "tour of an amazing natural location" might actually well turn out to be a patrol of one clan's border with the next. As a result, be prepared to be surprised because some Imperial travelers who embarked on some tours have been returned to their families after their gear was looted...

Adventure Hook: Lord and Lady "want to see it all" have hired you as security for a tour of all Denotam's natural wonders.
....Gleefully, the Clan they signed on with saw their very well armed and equipped security as a chance to carry out a "probe in force" while telling the "customers" this was a normal walking tour route.

Naturally, when they cross the borders, things go "starfish shaped".

Which tendril of the starfish are your characters and their protective charges on?

From the Double Adventure: Mission on Mithril.

Point B: This point in jagged terrain suddenly reveals a very large, very deep
chasm. Its sheer walls drop vertically nearly 1500 meters to a flat. dry bottom.
There appears to be no way to reach the bottom
As the day passes, shadows wifl begin to lengthen on the rock walls and two
facts will become apparant. First, the vertical walls give evidence that they are of
artificial origin. They look as if they were carved from bedrock, perhaps by large
cutting lasers or power beams. Second, the walls are note entirely smooth. In many
places, they are eroded by weather and wind. In others, bas-relief carvings are
still visible from the creation of the walls. They represent upright bipedal beings,
roughly humanoid, with animal heads and occasional tails.
Referee: The light/shadow interface is created by the sheer sides of the chasm
and the position of the sun at certain times of the day. The satellite survey caught
the chasm at just the right moment.
Continued investigation of this chasm will reveal the following additional facts:
1. The bottom of the chasm must be well drained, because it is dry, and storms
and precipitation are quite frequent on this world.
2. In addition to the bas-relief carvings, large portions of the sheer faces are
covered with small figures- probably letters or hieroglyphs.
3. Very close and intense investigation will show that the figures are recognizable
as crudely Aslan- intelligent carnivorous chasers whose civilization borders the
the edge of the Imperium.

From the Alien Module: Darrians.

The Flame Pit, about 2,000 meters in diameter, was a bed
of glowing coals fed from below by geothermal action. Natural
gas flowing through the pit produced its characteristic yellow
flames in the center, while a long vertical seam of coal produced
the glowing coals that the Darrians used for their home fires.
Natural action slowly forced new coals into the pit where they
could be gathered and transported to the humans' homes.

So, what is the Vilani version of a Pecan Log?
I’m thinking mini-mushroom fungi growing on a sugar cane log force grown in a compressed tube.

Vilani dictionary guys, go wild.
I think that a fairly literal description of that would be something like kika aashishugi saamaken kiilii, but if it had any significant cultural popularity in the “Vilanisphere”, surely it would have a shorter, less literally descriptive name — perhaps manaadek (“temptation”)?.

Sounds good to me, Vilani linguists speak up.

I forgot this one, and it appears in both Starter Traveller and The Traveller Book, Shadows.

However, the ship's scanners have detected a surface feature of some interest on Yorbund. Located far into unsettled territory, and not appearing on any maps, the feature appeared in a break in the almost perpetual overcast. An aerial view of the feature is shown below. Extensive use of the ship's computer on the image data in memory gradually expands the information available, although additional images are obscured by the overcast and the nature of the atmosphere below. The three-pyramid complex appears to be constructed of stone having a high metal content, with a high probability of voids within the structure, although none of high volume. The feature appears to be old, constructed (rather than natural), and not of human origin. It appears safe for an exploratory expedition.

This adventure takes place on the world of Yorbund (0703-C7C6503·7), in the Regina subsector of the Spinward Marches of the Imperium.
