General Rumor Tables

In the linkworlds cluster book, there's a bit in the back with Rumor Tables. They provide one or two sentences about General, Military, Space, Commercial or Political rumors.

I liked these a lot because they colored the sector. 95% were just rumors, but a few I turned into adventure plotlets when the players wanted to pursue them. Anyone else use these in their games?

I'd love to collect some more for my new campaign, recommendations? Any version of Traveller or even from another sci-fi game would be great.

can pull quite a few baseline ideas from daily news. today's drudgereport ....

"Bieber banned from China to 'purify' nation..."
"USA Urges All Nationals In NKorea To 'Depart Immediately'..."
"BATTLE OF THE BILLIONAIRES?"
"China to become artificial intelligence world leader..."

just change the names and you could do a lot with any of those.

I have built almost my entire proto-Traveller Spinward Marches campaign from the rumours table in A1 Kinunir - plus the library data in the back.

I have added quite a lot of rumours of my own over the course of the campaign, but A1 was a great starting point.
