Colugos are arboreal gliding mammals that are native to Southeast Asia.

Their closest evolutionary relatives are primates.

There are just two living species of colugos: the Sunda flying lemur and the Philippine flying lemur.

Looks like a cross between a Bat and a Squirrel.

Colugos seem to be folivores who will opportunistically eat insects; they tend to prefer young leaves, which are higher in protein than mature leaves.
Yeah, that's the impression that I get too. The problem is that the K'Kree are portrayed as being completely fanatical when it comes to any consumers of animal protein. But then again, I do not believe any authoritative source has ever bothered to let the rest of the universe know if that attitude drills down to the insectivore level or not.

From Alien Module 2 :

The K’kree are very uneasy anywhere their sensitive noses detect the smell of cooking meat, anyplace where meat has been cooked recently, or in the presence of anyone who has eaten meat within the last two or three days. (They smell it on the body secretions and breath.) Indeed, the smell of dead or dying animals causes considerable discomfort, both because of the sensitive nature of K’kree olfactory equipment, and because of the unpleasant associations such smells raise in the K’kree ancestral memory.

My view is that insects are animals; of course, I’m not an authoritative source on K’kree attitudes.

Since colugos don’t cook insects, I’d guess that a colugo merchant would have to keep his stock in an insect-free environment (and put himself on a meat-free diet) for several days before offering them to potential K’kree customers.

I need a planet of Star Koala's. Awesome picture!

I just read a Wiki on Koala's and found that their lethargy may be a hinderance to any uplifting. Now a civilization of aliens who look a lot like Koala's who got past their lethargy and gained intelligence and technology...

Schlock Mercenary has the Tausennigan Ob’enn

edit:
Many humans have noted that ob'enn look
like big bipedal koalas. They’re furry, and
rather cute from the right angle. This should
always be an angle from which they can’t see
you, as they’re violently xenophobic and view
every non-ob’enn sophont as a valid target of
opportunity.
