Evening all,

There appears to be a slight issue between T4 book B Tables 126 DMs, Tables 194 Factors, and Consolidated T4 Errata for Table 194.

Table 126 lists the following DMs. The first entry is DM, followed by the Name, and finally the distance. I included, hopefully correctly, the kilometer distance to AU. For AU I converted to kilometers.

09 Continental 5,000 km (0.00003 AU)
10 Planetary 50,000 km (0.0003 AU)
11 Far Orbit 500,000 km (0.003 AU)
12 Interplanetary 1 AU 150,000,000 km (149,598,000 rounded up)
13 Outsystem 10 AU 1,500,000,000 km
14 Oort 100 AU 15,000,000 km

Table 194 lists the following Factors (I've changed the layout to match Table 126). Factor,

09 Continental 5,000 km (0.00003 AU)
10 Planetary 50,000 km (0.0003 AU)
11 Far Orbit 500,000 km (0.003 AU)
12 No name 5,000,000 km (0.03 AU)
13 No name 50,000,000 km (0.3 AU)
14 No name 500,000,000 km (3 AU)
15 Solar 5,000,000,000 km (33 AU)
16 Kuiper Belt 50,000,000,000 km (300 AU)
17 Oort Cloud 500,000,000,000 km (3,000 AU)

The two tables agree that Continental = DM/Factor 09, Planetary = DM/Factor 10, and Far Orbit = DM/Factor 11.

Table 126 DM 12 is identified as Interplanetary with a distance of 1 AU or 150,000,000 km which on Table 194 would be Factor 13 which is a range of 50,000,000 km or approximately 0.3 AU.

On Table 126 Outsystem has a DM 13 with a distance of 10 AU or 1,500,000,000 km which on Table 194 is a Factor of 14.

Table 126 DM 14 is identified as the Oort Cloud which is at 100 AU or 15,000,000,000 which would be Factor 15 on Table 194.

Per Table 194 the Kuiper Belt is at 50,000,000,000 km or about 300 AU.
The Kuiper Belt, per solarsystem.nasa.gov/Kuiper and theplanets.org/Kuiper-belt, extends about 30 to 55 AU from the Sun. Thirty AU is approximately 4,500,000,000 km.

The Oort cloud, per solarsystem.nasa.gov/Kuiper and theplanets.org/oort-cloud, starts somewhere between 2,000 or 5,000 AU from the Sun and extends out to approximately 100,000 AU. Table 126 has the Oort Cloud at 100 AU which is incorrect.

Finally, the Consolidated T4 Errata recommends that the Range Factors be changed from 9 through 17 to 3 through 11. The suggested correction would make Table 194 incapable with Table 126.

Recommended change to Table 194
09 Continental 5,000 km (0.00003 AU)
10 Planetary 50,000 km (0.0003 AU)
11 Far Orbit 500,000 km (0.003 AU)
11 No name 5,000,000 km (0.03 AU)
11 No name 50,000,000 km (0.3 AU)
12 Interplanetary 1 AU 150,000,000 km (149,598,000 rounded up)
12 No name 500,000,000 km (3 AU)
13 Outsystem 10 AU 1,500,000,000 km
13 Kuiper Belt 30 AU 4,500,000,000 km
13 Solar 5,000,000,000 km (33 AU)
13 No name 50,000,000,000 km (300 AU)
14 Oort Cloud 500,000,000,000 km (3,000 AU)

Table 126 recommended changes
09 Continental 5,000 km (0.00003 AU)
10 Planetary 50,000 km (0.0003 AU)
11 Far Orbit 500,000 km (0.003 AU)
12 Interplanetary 1 AU 150,000,000 km (149,598,000 rounded up)
13 Outsystem 10 AU 1,500,000,000 km
14 Oort Cloud 3,000 AU 500,000,000,000 km

Hopefully the above makes sense.

Morning PDT everyone,

If anyone is interested I can send you a copy of the integrated range table I have compiled from T4 Book B and T4 Game screen by contacting me via e-mail associated with my forum name.

Hopefully, the material will be easier to understand.
