Just a bunch of Book 1 Randos

for an upcoming pick up game I've generated a bunch of random characters (for Careers) for the players, though I used book 1 I've used skills from later CT books. they are

after Failing to enlist in to the Scouts <Character> was drafted in to the Marines and was soon commissioned, and promoted to Captain due to much combat, spent an uneventful 2nd term working with Air/Raft & G-Carriers and with Cutlasses in their 3rd term before mustering out.

After leaving School <Character> got a job as a Navigator & Co-pilot on a Smuggling Ship for many years <Character> proved useful through both Finesse & Action jobs. Staying on as Pilot & First Officer after the ship went Legit.

After the Merchant Academy <Character> was given the job as a Steward and promptly started a side business, <Character> would learn most jobs in the Pursers department short of actually being a Purser. It wouldn't be until just before they was given a forced redundancy due to emerging health problems related to age and workplace injuries (Failed aging rolls) they would be promoted to Assistant Purser.

<Character> was a Cadet throw School though not academically gifted enough for the Academy they had enough "Soldierly Talent" to be sent to OCS and promoted, but was soon detached to Reserve duty due to an over abundance of junior officers.

<Character> is vaguely related to Imperial Aristocracy, they initially wanted to study Computer & Communications Engineering, but their family forced them in to humanities in an effort to see them study Political Science or Business, they instead fell in with the Philosophy & Arts seen and got involved in various Martial Arts, they would graduate with a degree in "Grates". As good as (but not quite) cut off they took to Travelling.
 
After two and a bit sessions the randos finished their first mission, on a Balkanized world infiltrate a anti-Imperial nation and extract a minor noble who was arrested for trying to negotiate a trade deal with members of the regimes moderate faction. they earned enough cash to pay for their high passages back into imperial space, but they have taken on an other mission to try and score some extra credits to show for their trip beyond the fringe.

new mission is to smuggle machine tools and blueprints in to a neutral nation that is uncomfortably close to expansionist Anti-Imperial states in an effort to bring the neutral nation in to the Pro-Imperial Bloc. machine tools and blueprints that are heavily regulated by treaty, though not prohibited if they where found out would trigger a number of diplomatic incidents and possibly a War.
 
2nd mission is a success, but one of the players found a star map & depending on how they choose to go it will cost them between 30K & 50K+ to make it back to some backwater fringe planet just on the right side of the frontier and 150k+ to make it to a regularly trafficked space lane or a civilized planet. they will have to wait perhaps months for a direct jump back across the frontier or for someone taking the indirect rout that they can book consecutive passages with they will have to wait months, or up to a year for passage back to a civilized system. then of cause most days next week they could hop a transport taking the first leg of the indirect rout and try to luck out making connections.

then their is the ship auctions, every few months, most are ceased Pirate & Smuggling ships or Bank Defults but occasionally there are Joe, Varg & Privateer ships mothballed since the last frontier war sometimes going single digit percentages of their new build prices.
 
as happens with our pick up games a lot they tend to turn in to mini campaigns when we have scheduling conflicts, this one looks like to be going that way as well, but it will have to go on brake for a couple of weeks as some of the players are off on work trips and destination weddings for people they don't know, but this game will be off and on till the far side of Easter by the looks of things. I've bean asked to throw together an other "Randos game" to sub in and out for this one depending on who is available, I'm thinking either Drone or Joes?
