The 200 ton Safari Ship design contest!

The Royal Lyoness™ class Safari ship is designed to carry your Safari expedition anywhere. Seven well appointed staterooms and one Master Stateroom carry you and your team to the hunt1. Accommodations are also included for the Hunt-master / Guide and an assistant2. Your crew consists of a Captain, Navigator, Pilot, Engineer, Steward/Medic, Steward and three Drivers/Ships Gunners3. Once you arrive at your destination, your crew will set up base camp using the Lyons’ Claw™ Modular Cutter System to deploy the Lodge Module, the Transport Module and the Trophy Module.

Royal Lyoness Safari Ship (Cepheus)

Your fully streamlined Royal Lyoness can remain in orbit, refuel, or join the base camp. The Lodge module contains spartan but comfortable camp accommodations for the party (CE SRD Luxury Suite Module with 7 staterooms). The standard Transport Module (CE SRD) transports an ATV or Grav Carrier, plus three additional air rafts. Finally, the Trophy module allows you to bring back your live trophies from a successful hunt.

Like the other modules, the Trophy Module can be custom configured for your hunting preferences. The basic package accommodates a variety of live creatures including 4 x 2 Kt beasts, 6x 800 kg, 8x 150 Kg and up to 30 smaller creatures. Once transported to the ROYAL LYONESS, the Trophy Module can be removed from the cutter and connected to Safari Ship power and life support systems during Jump transport.

The Lyons’ Cub™ Cutter is docked in a Full Hangar, and two modules are stored in regular hangars to facilitate faster configuration changes. An external clamp allows for a standard cutter module to be attached to the ship’s hull, while changing the other modules in the pressurized hangar area.

The Royal Lyoness is fully equipped to host your Safari party, with a Great Room that seats 12 for socializing and luxury dining. The Great room is surrounded by a hydroponic garden, providing fresh organics to heighten the dining experience. A separate galley/lounge is provided for the crew. A fully secured armory is installed to manage your hunting equipment, along with a small weapons training facility to familiarize your guests with the weaponry. A workshop is installed to repair damaged equipment. A two bed medical bay and emergency low berth provide the crew and passengers with access to TL 12 medical care.

The Royal Lyoness is equipped with standard Model D Jump Drive and Power Plant, providing Jump 2 range, while an oversized Maneuver Drive C allows 1G thrust while towing up to 200 dTons. A towing package (larger external clamp) is NOT included in the base configuration. The ship carries 92 tons of fuel, supporting one Jump 2 and 3 weeks of operations. Full wilderness refueling and purification can be completed in just over 24 hours.

The Royal Lyoness does not fear the unexpected. The hull is armored and the ship boasts four hard points equipped with fire control. The standard configuration includes three triple turrets, each with a missile launcher sandcaster, and pulse laser. Custom configurations are available. The base price for this starship is 224.297 MCr. Discounts may be available at Starports which have already built a Royal Lyoness.

Who wants to go on a Budget Safari? Going on Safari is an expensive proposition. If you can REALLY afford to Safari, you’re going to do it in style. Not in a 200 ton refitted trader. If you can Safari you want to have the BSD – Biggest Ship Displacement. Hunters don’t brag about how much they saved, or how low is their monthly mortgage.:ROFLMAO: They brag about how big the quarry is, and how impressive is their four hundred ton starship.(y)

“I wouldn’t hunt wamp rats in a 200 ton standard Safari “ship.” Two hundred tons is for the proletarian lottery winners.”- Major Sir Richard Inith of Bothom, also known as Major Dick by his “friends.”

That is about what I was thinking about for a Safari ship. I am not sure if I would put all of the same stuff into it, as I was thinking more along the lines of adequate live carry space for specimens.
