As you know, I don't have my own website. This is because it takes a lot of time and effort to maintain a website.
I want to spend as much time as possible creating models.
While watching the operation situation of new Personal Album, I will try it if I can do it.
The Donosev is such a cool ship, always stands out from the crowd. Remember the deck plans and art work from Grand Survey and World Builders Hand book fondly.

Now let's try to recreate the work of the master of traveller art.

FIGHTING SHIPS:
Imperial Interstellar Scout Service. Its function is to continually re-survey the interior regions of the Imperium, updating maps and charts, and maintaining beacons and markers for astrogation hazards.
The survey scout is a peaceful vessel, typically unarmed and inoffensive. It does, however, mount four hard points and can be armed with a variety of turrets and weaponry if necessary.
The Donosev class survey scout is named for famous scouts in the Imperial service.

Villemina Donosev held the post of Master Chief Surveyor of the Imperial Grand Survey when the First Survey was published in 420. Her unstinting devotion was instrumental in bringing the hundred-year project to a successful close. When a new class of ship was commissioned for Second Survey, it was decided to name the class for her. Individual ship are named for famous scouts in the Imperial service.

Every time I see the original Annic Nova image, I'm reminded of Babylon 5 Shadow Ships (because of all the black and spiky bits).

This works.
Doing the collector as semi-transparent (so you can see through it!) is something I don't think I've ever seen before.
It also highlights just how ... strange ... of a hull form factor the Annic Nova really is (obviously a Dispersed Structure hull configuration).
Also makes clear that whoever conceptualized the ship for artwork wasn't thinking in terms of Reaction Control Thrust vectors in the engineering sense for being able to maneuver the ship around a solar system (as opposed to making it spin like a top, going nowhere fast).
At least without artificial gravity! You can do it but the boats need to point sharply nose-down for the combined thrust line to pass through the center of mass. (Without artificial gravity, everything then hits the ceiling and aft bulkheads.)
Also, this makes a strong case for the "missing third pinnace" that would have parked in the cargo-deck nose-dock. (The Mongoose version does not include this feature.) It's still not quite enough, but it gets you back into "we're hanging a lampshade on it" territory from the HandWave Zone (nothing to see here...).
Hadn't considered transparent collector sails -- and, though it looks odd, it works in this form as a technical illustration (they cover too much, otherwise).
One last thing: as drawn (in the 1970s) the canopy structure cannot be correct -- the arms as shown folded aren't long enough! The text states the sail's diameter when unfurled is 1km... not sure how one would go about fixing that.

I ended up making an arm based on the cover art. Then I noticed the description of 1km. I built this ship in 2013, so if I have the opportunity to rebuild, I will try to fix the folding mechanism as well. Aside from 1 hour to unfold, 1D weeks to fold feels unbalanced.

This model has grainy details (2013 model) and will need to be reworked again.
For example, you can see that pinnaces are clearly cutting corners from the models I am currently using.

It's charging that takes 1D weeks* -- folding or unfolding takes 1 hour. (6 turns in '77 combat, about 4 turns in '81, or 3 in either version of High Guard; alas, I have no idea how this works in other editions or publishers...)

*two notes here:
First, the 1D weeks to charge pre-dates LBB6, which was the first time Traveller had a way to generate (and keep track of) stellar characteristics. It's almost certianly meant to account for that variation. T5 Collectors need a flat 10 days, regardless of star type -- or, indeed, whether there's even a star present!
Second, the 1D weeks was to charge both drives, and they could be used sequentially (that is, it could do a J3 and J2 back-to-back). T5 (and Mongoose) don't allow the charge to be retained long enough to be used for a second Jump. LBB2 '77 (which was controlling when the ship was written up) does, and this means that if you've just jumped, you only need to recharge the drive you just used (so it's only 3/5 or 2/5 of that 1D weeks in that case).
There is a mistake in the Japanese translation version. I have just confirmed original English version. Thanks.
A minor suggestion:
For your Album that everyone can view, you may wish to rename it from "OLD WORK" to "OLD WORK (magmagmag)" or something similar. When your Album shows up under "Browse Albums", it immediately makes it clearer whose Album it is.
(Yes, under the album title there is the owner's name in small print by default, but it is very easy to miss, especially if someone is specifically looking for your work).
